We are seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Operator to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in blueprint reading, machine operation, and quality control, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all production tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines.
- Load and unload raw materials (steel plates) and finished components.
- Ensure the correct program and necessary tools are installed for each job.
- Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Blueprint Reading and Programming:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Understand and modify CNC programs as necessary.
- Download programs via various methods (disc, flash drive, direct connect).
Quality Control:
- Inspect cut parts to ensure they meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow established quality control procedures and address defective products.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and production data.
Safety and Housekeeping:
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure all workers are trained and adhere to safety specifications.
- Conduct daily operational checks and maintain a clean work area.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with production, logistics, and general manufacturing tasks.
- Operate cranes and forklifts to transport steel beams and materials.
- Perform grinding and deburring of cut edges as required.
- Retrieve raw materials from stock and record production data.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines or similar equipment.
- Strong blueprint reading and CNC programming skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Forklift and crane operation experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and metal dust.
