Description
The Commercial Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving growth within Industrial Accounts by strengthening long-term customer relationships and expanding sales opportunities. This role focuses on retaining and growing existing business, increasing product adoption among current customers, and acquiring new customers aligned with the company’s overall objectives. The BDR works closely with the Business Development Manager to negotiate and close high-value or specialized deals. Success in this safety-sensitive position requires a proactive sales approach, strategic account management, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned geographic area to maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Serve as the primary customer contact, proactively addressing and resolving issues to ensure long-term satisfaction and prevent recurring problems.
- Retain and grow sales, volume, and profitability with assigned customers through relationship management and solution-based selling.
- Negotiate and close deals, collaborating with internal teams to develop tailored proposals that address customer needs and objectives.
- Participate in pricing decisions with sales leadership and contribute to customer business reviews.
- Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities to stay ahead of market trends.
- Support and collaborate with other sales team members to drive business growth.
- Meet performance goals aligned with overall company objectives.
- Engage in professional development and maintain industry certifications as required.
- Represent the company’s core values in all customer and internal interactions
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in an industrial, B2B, or commercial sales environment.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing experience highly preferred
- CLS or other industry certification highly preferred
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.

- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned market.

- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to address customer concerns effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word), and sales reporting tools.

- Ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
