At Industrial Power Truck & Equipment, we’re seeking a seasoned, business-minded leader to take command of one of the most capable commercial truck body shops in Texas. With full ownership of the P&L, this is more than an operations role—it's a strategic leadership position reporting directly to executive management.
As the Body Shop Manager, you’ll manage an 18-bay facility equipped for the full spectrum of Class 3–8 commercial truck body work—from collision repair and paint to fabrication, liftgate installation, box repair, and cab replacements. The shop is designed for scale. The opportunity is built for a high-performing leader who knows how to maximize efficiency, grow market share, and develop high-functioning teams.

Compensation Structure
Our compensation package is designed to attract top-tier leadership and reward high performance across all levels of the business:

  • Base Salary – Paid weekly to provide consistent and reliable cash flow.
  • Monthly Gross Profit Multiplier – Earn a performance-based bonus directly tied to departmental gross profit.
  • Monthly Budget Bonus – Receive a $1,000 bonus each month for achieving budget targets. This bonus begins prorating once 80% of the budget is attained.
  • Year-End Profit-Sharing Bonus – At the end of each fiscal year, earn 10% of net profit above budget as a performance incentive.

This structure rewards effective leadership, financial discipline, and the ability to drive both top-line growth and operational efficiency. We paint the floor you paint the ceiling!

Scope of Work
Our facility delivers a wide array of specialized services for commercial vehicles, including:

  • Cab replacements and front-end rebuilds
  • Collision repair and structural damage restoration
  • 50-foot commercial-grade paint booth for full vehicle refinishing
  • Custom fabrication and welding
  • Box truck repairs including floor, roof, side panel, and roll-up door replacements
  • Liftgate installation, repair, and replacement
  • Vocational body swaps and upfit installations
  • Complete service for Class 3 through Class 8 trucks across a variety of brands and configurations
  • This is not a typical body shop, it's a high-capacity, full-scope commercial truck operation designed to support fleets, dealerships, and insurance carriers.

Team Leadership

  • The Body Shop Manager will directly lead a diverse and skilled team, including:
  • Shop Foreman – Oversees day-to-day technician productivity and job flow
  • Technicians – Skilled in commercial truck repairs, refinishing, and fabrication
  • Service Advisors – Manage customer communication and service coordination
  • In-House Estimators – Handle repair evaluations and insurance documentation
  • Field Estimators – Perform on-site assessments at customer locations
  • Porter – Supports logistics, vehicle movement, and shop maintenance
  • Janitor – Ensures cleanliness, safety, and facility upkeep

You will be responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and retaining top performers across this team.

What You’ll Own

  • Full P&L accountability for a high-output, revenue-producing department
  • Leadership of a cross-functional team including technicians, foreman, service advisors, estimators, porters, and custodial staff
  • Oversight of shop scheduling, estimates, workflow, and repair quality
  • Customer and insurance partner relations, with direct influence on satisfaction and retention
  • Recruitment, development, and performance management of team members
  • Continuous improvement initiatives in technology, processes, and training
  • Strategic planning and execution in alignment with company growth targets

  • 5 years in a leadership role within a commercial truck, Automotive or heavy equipment body shop
  • Demonstrated success in managing a full P&L and driving profitability
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial truck repair and body shop operations
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Proficiency in estimating software (CCC, Mitchell), shop management systems (CDK), and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; vocational/technical certifications preferred (I-CAR, ASE, etc.)

Schedule & Travel

  • Full-time: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • One Saturday shift per month (8:00 AM–1:00 PM); required presence for month-end Saturdays
  • Occasional travel to other branches, customer sites, and industry events/training
