Job Title : Mechanical Assembler

Department : Production

Reports to : Production Manager

FSLA Status : Non-exempt

Preparation Date : 01 / 17 / 2024

Summary : A mechanical assembler uses a variety of tools and equipment to assemble units according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line. This involves reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and written instructions to assemble the parts or products. To ensure quality, an assembler also looks for faulty components during the assembly process and may be required to test assembled parts or products to ensure functionality by performing the following duties :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

Uses a variety of tools and equipment to assemble units according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line.
Involves reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and written instructions to assemble the parts or products.
May be required to assemble brackets, frames or perform minor soldering of component parts to boards or connectors.
Looks for faulty components during the assembly process and may be required to test assembled parts or products to ensure functionality.
Perform standard assembly and / or disassembly procedures, perform rework and repair on large mechanical and manufactured equipment and products.
Follow established safety procedures
Provide assistance to senior level assemble mechanics
Will be required to travel to customer sites to assemble product and ensure product is set up according to specifications and customized blueprints

Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has no supervisory responsibilities

Skills and Q ualifications

Required to follow directions carefully

Basic reading skills are required to perform the job.

Basic technical knowledge of equipment and tools

Possess manual dexterity, good eyesight, as well as the ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Follow deadlines and meet production skills

Basic understanding of specifications and blueprint drawings.

Work as a team member and use time efficiently.

Must be able to communicate effectively, read and speak English

Ability to travel internationally and within the USA continent 30%-45% of time

Education

High school diploma or GED is required for this position.

Technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly, specifications / blueprints interpretation or related field preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :

Must have a Valid Driver’s License

Must be able to obtain a passport

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and a warehouse setting. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is the work environment is moderate to usually loud.
