JOB TITLE: RESCUE TECHNICIAN

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Rescue Technician plays a crucial role as standby rescue personnel, providing immediate response capabilities to support turnaround projects. This position ensures the safety of personnel by being prepared for rapid intervention in emergency situations, such as confined space rescues, high-angle rescues, and other industrial emergencies. Rescue Technicians maintain compliance with industry and company standards, uphold readiness through training, and operate essential rescue equipment. This is a temporary position ideal for skilled professionals with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Project Location: Westlake Chemical, Westlake, LA
Project Duration: January 31, 2025 – Estimated End of March 2025 (65 days)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Participate in emergency response and industrial rescue operations.
· Operate and maintain rescue equipment, including AV Scott 2000 & 3000 full-face and half-face respiratory protection.
· Conduct regular safety checks and ensure readiness for emergency scenarios.
· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulations.
· Follow structured schedules during training and operational assignments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of emergency response techniques and industrial safety standards.
· Ability to operate and maintain specialized rescue equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Successful completion of a Drug Screening.
· Possession of a valid TWIC Card.
· Passing a Fit Test for AV Scott 2000 & 3000 (Full Face & Half Face).
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience in Emergency Response.
· Industrial rescue or turnaround project experience.
TRAINING & WORK SCHEDULE:
· Training: A minimum of 70 hours of rescue training will be provided upon hire.
· Training schedule: 40 hours per week (starting two weeks prior to the project start).
· Operational Schedule: 7 days on, 12-hour shifts, with 13 consecutive days of work followed by 1 day off.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Industrial and turnaround environments at Westlake Chemical.
· Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial hazards (appropriate PPE provided).
· Physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and wearing respiratory protection for extended periods.
COMPENSATION:
Competitive hourly pay: $25/hour for Rescue Technicians and $30/hour for Supervisors.
