Job Title: Pipe Foreman
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Summary
The Pipe Foreman is responsible for traveling to customer sites to provide support to employees and customers during active projects. This position requires someone with previous Foreman experience in the food and beverage sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, be able to diagnose and solve problems, and be comfortable working independently and in a team environment. Further, candidates must have the ability travel for extended periods of time, work weekends, and overtime as necessary. The Pipe Foreman will need to maintain professionalism while motivating and leading employees ensuring the safe and timely completion of projects and the delivery of high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Success Criteria & Measurement
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints and other documents related to project completion.
- Act as a problem-solver.
- Accept and act on short notice changes with a positive attitude.
- Review, train, and develop ISI employees.
- Safely uses all equipment, such as welding guns, tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.
- Works with limited supervision and in a clean and organized manner
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment at customer sites.
- Assist with planning and tracking of job-related activities.
- Direct a group of millwrights, pipe fitters/welders, and other crew members.
- Interact with management, employees, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
- Determine parts, supplies, tools, and equipment needs, place orders, and receive and organize in advance of production needs.
- Research and compile information and provide reports as needed.
- Ensure all paperwork and timesheets are complete, accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
- Maintain an orderly, clean and safe worksite.
- Ensure organized return of all project-related tools, equipment, etc., when projects end.
- Ensure the security of all ISI property and tools.
- Weld and fabricate proficiently.
- Work within precise limits.
- Work at heights.
- Travel out-of-town for extended periods of time.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Leading two to 20 employees at a time.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
- Highly proficient at reading and working from blueprints with good attention to detail.
- Possess excellent planning and coordination skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to do strenuous work, sometimes in extreme hot or cold temperatures.
- Pipefitting and pipe welding skills
- Provide your own hand tools (the tools of the trade).
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery.
- Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 3 - 5 years of foreman experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience process/ sanitation piping experience
- Have a current valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
- Ability to pass a DOT test
- Ability to pass a 6g sanitary tube and pipe tig test
- Ability to pass a pipefitter test
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
