What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sampler / Tech I / II position at Industrial Systems Consulting?
ISC is recruiting for a Sampler / Technician role for a refinery operation located in Old Ocean TX. This is a long-term contract with a leading oil & gas company. Interviews will be scheduled for early April.
Responsibilities:
- Climb and sample storage tanks and LPGs.
- Operate various sampling equipment effectively.
- Work with sample compositor systems to ensure accurate sample collection.
- Utilize a Fresh Air SCBA system for sampling sour tanks.
- Drive to terminals for sample pickup during each shift.
- Maintain and manage sample retention and disposal in the bottle room.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication, active listening, teamwork, and leadership.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Uphold safety and health standards for yourself and colleagues, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Adhere to laboratory policies and procedures, company regulations, and federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Be available for overtime work when required.
- Follow work directions and safety protocols at all times.
Basic/Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid TWIC card for terminal access.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Availability to work an 8-hour shift schedule (including days and nights).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without restrictions.
- Willingness and ability to perform and comply with the following, with or without accommodation:
- Work overtime as needed.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Wear and properly use SCBA and half-mask respirators.
- Work in environments with chemicals, including acids and bases.
- Wear fire-resistant clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed boots, ear protection, and eye protection.
- Maintain facial hair grooming to ensure a proper respirator seal (if applicable).
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Handle petroleum products under high pressure and heat.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in petroleum sampling.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, issue resolution, proactive communication, leadership, and teamwork.
