We have a role open for a Warehouse Material Controller. This is contract role in an industrial facility in West Lake LA.
Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Material Controller is responsible for managing inventory and ensuring the efficient handling of materials. Key duties include:
- Performing goods receipts, issues, and other financial transactions using SAP. Maintaining receiving and shipping logs in Excel.
- Navigating SAP/EWM applications to manage inventory, resolve discrepancies, and process warehouse transactions using RF Mobilizer.
- Conducting visual and technical inspections of incoming purchases to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications and refining standards. Tagging all incoming materials with bar-coded labels for tracking and storage.
- Organizing stock and non-stock materials by placing them in appropriate bin locations or designated storage areas. Determining optimal storage methods based on factors such as commodity type, temperature, humidity, weight limits, turnover rates, and space constraints.
- Delivering stock and non-stock materials via forklift, truck, or by hand. Picking materials for orders based on electronic pick lists or verbal emergency requests, using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, and order pickers.
- Coordinating shipments of repairable materials and nonconforming items using Navisphere program. Ensuring shipments comply with procedures, including MSDS requirements, bill of lading documentation, return authorizations, and approved vendor listings. Processing SAP transactions for refurbished and repairable equipment.
- Performing daily cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records. Investigating and reconciling discrepancies related to shortages, overages, damages, or system inaccuracies.
- Periodically requisitioning non-stock inventory items as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of computerized inventory tracking systems, such as SAP.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
- Willingness and ability to perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, using hands for handling materials, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
- Meet specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when operating forklifts and order pickers.
