Description
We are looking for a skilled Transport Refrigeration Technician to add to our growing team. In this position, it will be your job to look after our transport refrigeration units.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the transport refrigeration industry. Commercial/residential air and/or refrigeration, welding and mechanic skills are a plus. This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics.
Responsibilities:
· Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of components on truck and trailer reefer units
· Perform diagnostics, repair starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes
· Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements
· Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
· Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the unit is working properly
· Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
· Must be able to diagnose and perform proper repairs
· Conform to all safety and health standards
Requirements
· Highschool diploma or equivalent; related vocational or technical training preferred
· 2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technician experience
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
· Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
· EPA Certified to use refrigerants, R134z and R404 and others as needed
· Must be able to be “on-call” for after-hours service
· Must have own tools and toolbox
· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and / or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Attention to detail is key for this position
· Willingness to perform additional duties / assignments as may be required by management
