Packaging Machine Operator

The Packaging Machine Operator position is a pivotal role primarily involving operating the Automated Batching System packing line. This position will require a highly motivated individual to create and implement new processes and procedures for our Automated Batching System. The Packaging Machine Operator position is a support role for several areas of the warehouse, including but not limited to; production, assembly, packaging, and quality control. The Packaging Machine Operator will ensure all operational guidelines and safety compliance is adhered to, productivity standards are maintained, and continuous improvement and new ways of operating are delivered.

Other areas include, but are not limited to:

• Create and implement a standardized process for Automated Batching System
• Create and implement a highly effective scheduling system for orders
• Perform production duties such as kitting, packaging, labeling and sorting

• Spot check production kits at regular intervals to ensure quality

• Troubleshoot Automated Batching System in the event of any issues

• Move product and inventory using a forklift and bin system

• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

• Execute and document quality inspections per SOP

• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations

• Perform related duties as required by supervision
• Understanding and implementing ITP’s corporate policies, protocols and procedures.
• This position will also contribute to annual/bi-annual and ongoing inventory management in all locations.
• Additional duties and processes may be required as presented by the new machine implementation
• Perform scheduled maintenance on the packaging equipment.
• Develop records for repeat jobs to facilitate faster setups on subsequent runs.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS IN THE ROLE

• 100% of orders are packaged on time
• 100% of orders delivered on time with 100% accuracy
• Train other warehouse employees to safely use the Automated Batching System
• Correct labeling of all production kits
• Correct product knowledge of all the parts we use at ITP
• Usage of P21 to implement a scheduling system for packaging machine
• Maintaining safety standards with both machine use, and maintenance. and ensuring only fully trained and evaluated operators operate the machinery.
• Effectively communicate to WOM what parts/items are needed for packaging orders
• High levels of employee morale as both a group and with accompanying levels of employee satisfaction in their supervision.
• Ability to support the WOM in future change and automation projects within the warehouses

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
