Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to load and unload various castings or cut stock for machining, ensuring that we meet both print specifications and customer requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation : Load and unload casting or cut stock for machining on CNC Lathes and CNC Mills, ensuring all processes meet print specifications and customer requirements.
- Tooling & Equipment :
- Set up CNC machines by loading / unloading programs and tools as per setup sheets.
- Obtain necessary tooling and ensure all tools are properly sharpened and positioned at the correct length.
- Remove and inspect tooling after use, tagging and marking tools for sharpening as needed.
- Inspection & Quality Control :
- Record and measure critical dimensions as required on the In-Process Inspection form during machining.
- Report any process-related issues or concerns to the CNC Supervisor.
- Maintenance & Deburring :
- Perform deburring of parts during idle times to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Ensure tools and parts are in top working condition.
- Safety & Communication :
- Operate machinery while maintaining a focus on safety and communication with shop and management personnel.
- Be proactive in identifying potential issues and resolving them.
Skills & Requirements
Education & Experience
High school diploma or trade school education preferred, though a GED is acceptable. Minimum of 5 years' experience in CNC machining or a related field.
