Job Title : AV Technician / Exhibits Specialist
Location : Dallas, TX
Salary : $24 per hour
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV Technician with a passion for audiovisual technology to join our team in Dallas, TX. In addition to standard AV Technician responsibilities, this role will also involve Exhibits Specialist duties, focusing on the construction and installation of exhibit structures.
Responsibilities :
AV Technician Duties :
Set up and operate audiovisual equipment for events, meetings, and presentations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with AV equipment.
Install and configure audiovisual systems, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing equipment.
Collaborate with clients and event planners to ensure seamless execution of audiovisual requirements.
Maintain and repair AV equipment as needed.
Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the audiovisual industry.
Exhibits Specialist Duties :
Study sketches or scale drawings to determine material requirements and costs for exhibit structures.
Collaborate with exhibit planning and art personnel to discuss structural feasibility and suggest alternate display methods.
Construct exhibit components using hand tools and power tools, assembling framework, panels, shelves, and fixtures.
Apply finishes, such as paint, enamel, or varnish, to exhibit structures for aesthetic appeal.
Mount fittings and fixtures, including shelves, panel boards, and shadow boxes, using hand tools or adhesives.
Install electrical wiring, fixtures, audiovisual components, and control equipment according to design specifications.
Affix murals, photographs, graphs, legend materials, and graphics to exhibit structures.
Work closely with maintenance and installation personnel to arrange structures in exhibit galleries.
Test electrical, electronic, and mechanical components to verify proper operation.
Maintain an inventory of building materials, tools, and equipment; order supplies as needed for construction.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as an AV Technician or Exhibits Specialist.
Technical proficiency in audiovisual systems and exhibit construction.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
