Job Summary
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Required Skills and Abilities
- Loading and unloading of truck
- Assembling, processing and stage orders for shipment
- Receiving and storing raw materials in designated area
- Prepares and maintains related shipping and receiving documents
- Processes orders utilizing FEDEX and UPS shipping station
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
- Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
- Occasionally required to assume additional operational duties in the absence of shipping supervisor
- Promptly completes any other duties and responsibilities designated by the department supervisor
- Responsible for safety and good housekeeping practices around work areas
- Basic computer skills necessary to utilize FEDEX and UPS shipping software
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc. utilized in the movement and storage of materials
- Capability of performing administrative tasks
- Ability to stand and use external dexterities for an entire shift
Education and Experience
- 2 years’ experience performing warehouse duties or utilizing a warehouse management system
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements
- Requires good manual dexterity and the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for prolonged periods throughout the workday
- Must be willing and able to perform several types of tasks
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
