Industry Standard Electric Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance and Administration to drive the company’s long-term financial health and operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, overseeing accounting operations, managing cash flow, and ensuring regulatory and industry compliance. The Director will provide ethical and competent leadership to the administrative accounting team, establishing clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring accountability across financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all audit and internal control operations to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Oversee job costing and project financial management, ensuring accurate cost tracking and financial controls for electrical projects.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, optimizing billing cycles and vendor payment terms.
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and risk analysis, providing insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance the company’s ERP accounting system, developing modules to improve efficiency across departments.
- Drive process improvements through the implementation of new accounting and project management technologies.
- Directly supervise the finance team, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Project Coordinators (PC), ensuring accurate project billing and expense tracking.
- Develop and implement corporate growth strategies, fostering strong relationships with key partners.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting, delivering timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a weekly, monthly. Quarterly, and annual basis to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with the Corporate CPA to ensure accurate general ledger allocations and compliance with tax requirements.
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws, certified payroll reporting.
- Ensure strict adherence to financial laws, regulations, and best practices to maintain corporate compliance and governance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Controller, or similar role.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing finance teams in a collaborative, results-driven environment.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Experience with financial management software (e.g., NetSuite, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- CPA or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
