What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Operations Seasonal Associate position at Indy Eleven?
This season-long part-time associate role with Indy Eleven will be a paid position and will not have a work week exceeding 30 hours. A successful candidate will be expected to be able to assist the Team Operations department from the beginning of the regular season (March) through the end of the post-season (November), and be available to travel with the first team, if necessary.
Indy Eleven’s Team Operations department is looking for an organized and motivated individual who is looking to gain experience working for a professional soccer team and getting insight to behind the scenes work in Team Operations. It is expected that this individual will have an eagerness to learn and be able to maintain a positive attitude, in a role that will often be challenging. This is an elevated position with larger and higher priority responsibilities than our internships.
The Team Operations Seasonal Associate will work closely with our coaching staff, technical staff, and players. Due to the proximity a successful candidate will have to players and coaches, it is a requirement that a successful candidate is fully vaccinated prior to beginning the internship. This position will report directly to the Manager, Team Administration and Equipment Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Working directly with the Head Coach, Coaching Staff, and Technical Staff at Grand Park to coordinate team needs such as:
- Assisting first team staff with the set up and preparation of daily training sessions.
- Organizing team apparel and equipment, including laundering.
- Supervising the training sessions of opposing teams while in market.
- Assisting the Manager, Team Administration and Equipment Manager with the planning of home and away game-day operations including:
- Assist with the setup of home, away, and referee locker rooms on home match days.
- Assisting with team locker room exits on home match days.
- Assisting with bag drop off and pickup at Indianapolis Airport for away matches.
- When either the Manager, Team Administration or Equipment Manager cannot travel, a successful candidate may be required to travel with the team in their place.
- Helping Manager, Team Administration create team travel itineraries.
- Assisting Equipment Manager with packing team bags for away matches.
- Act as the liaison for opposing teams leading up to and on home match days.
- Assisting the Manager, Team Administration and Equipment Manager with daily tasks including:
- Helping fulfill personal and professional requests from players and staff.
- Coordination with food partners for daily post training lunches.
- Assisting with the upkeep of Indy Eleven’s training facility.
- Completing other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirement include, but are not limited to:
- Experience in the sports industry, preferably in equipment or team management.
- Knowledge and passion for professional soccer.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- Candidates must be able to list upwards of 50lbs. and be on their feet for up to 12 hours on gamedays.
- This position requires non-traditional work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. This individual will be required, at times, to drive Indy Eleven’s vehicle.
- Reliable transportation to and from Grand Park during the week, Michael A. Carroll Stadium on home match days, and the Indianapolis Airport for away matches.
