What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Game Operations position at Indy Fuel Hockey?
Job Summary:
The Indy Fuel’s Manager of Game Operations will be the go-to person for organizing and overseeing the execution of all aspects of the “game day” and “show” elements for all home games at the Fishers Event Center. They will also work closely with Ticketing, Corporate Sponsorships, Marketing, and Community Relations/promotional staff to assist with the planning and execution of their events, as required.
This position will work with both the Indy Fuel of the ECHL and the Fishers Freight of the Indoor Football League (IFL).
Job Responsibilities:
- Organizing and overseeing the execution of game-day elements for all home games, events, media, and others as assigned
- Create detailed game day “run of show” scripts for all game day staff, including interns, emcee, DJ, production, Pit Crew, etc.
- Must ensure that all commitments to sponsors and internal and external resources are met
- Create, negotiate, and manage budgets for game day and other events.
- Communicate with Fishers Event Center staff on run of show, needs, and logistics of games and events
- Work closely with game day staff to make sure all pre-game, in-game, and post-game elements are set up and organized
- Manage and assist with all pre-game, in-game, and post-game set up and tear down
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by VP of Marketing
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2 years of Game Day Operations Management experience
- Required to perform duties with limited supervision and will be required to make significant independent decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills
- Familiarity with writing game day scripts (knowledge of ShoFlo is a plus)
- Must commit to working long and unusual hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
