Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Commercial Insurance Account Manager to help with our sales initiatives and drive growth within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in account management and technical sales, with the ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to manage a team, negotiate contracts, and foster relationships with clients in the technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and maximize revenue.
  • Manage key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, guiding best practices in account management and technical sales.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients to secure profitable agreements.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track sales activities, manage customer relationships, and report performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product offerings with market demands.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of the sales team, setting targets and evaluating outcomes.

Insurance account managers are responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring the clients receive the right coverage, and maintaining strong relationships between the client and the insurance company. Their duties typically include:

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Policy Administration: Review and manage clients’ insurance policies, ensuring coverage is up-to-date and accurate. This includes policy renewals, endorsements, and changes.
  • Customer Service: Respond to client inquiries, assist with claims, and address any issues or concerns regarding their insurance coverage.
  • Sales and Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional insurance products to clients based on their evolving needs.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate clients' risks and recommend appropriate coverage to protect their assets, business, or health.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of client interactions, policies, and claims. Provide regular reports on account status and potential risks.
  • Problem Resolution: Handle complaints or issues with claims, coverage, or other policy-related concerns, and work with underwriters or other departments to resolve them.
  • Policy Renewals and Retention: Monitor policy renewal dates and ensure clients renew their coverage promptly, working to retain clients and reduce attrition.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters, claims adjusters, and other departments to ensure a smooth experience for the client.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.

The role often requires strong communication skills, a deep understanding of insurance products, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in account management, technical sales, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals successfully.
  • Proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM software for managing customer interactions and sales processes.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly
