What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position at INEOS Styrolution?
The Position :
This position – and all positions - within the INEOS Styrolution organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process and Behavioural Safety as applicable to the position. These are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility.
Each employee must also commit to following INEOS’ Life-Saving rules on a daily basis and have a “safety-first” mindset. These rules are posted within each INEOS Styrolution facility. Additionally, incumbents :
Participate as needed for incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis / LOPA
Support integrity management by completing assigned Preventative Maintenance and ensure proper follow through on reliability concerns
What you will do :
Preventive Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Ensures effective maintenance of rotating and fixed equipment, including engines, motors, compressors, and pumps by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting progress.
Outage Coordination and Contractor Management : Coordinates and directs contractor activities during plant outages, managing tasks for contractors with varying skill levels and crafts.
Mechanical Repair and Rebuilding : Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, cleans, and calibrates mechanical components, ensuring parts meet dimensional requirements and return systems to operational status.
Repair Optimization and Downtime Minimization : Implements effective repair methods, conserves resources, and informs operations on routine maintenance techniques to minimize equipment downtime.
Fabrication and Welding : Fabricates repair parts using machine shop equipment, applies basic welding and metal cutting skills, and ensures necessary supplies and parts are identified and requested for repairs.
Certification and Technical Knowledge : Maintains NCCER certification for Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Crane, and Rigging, and applies technical knowledge while performing other duties as assigned by management.
What you will bring
A minimum of 5 years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic within the petrochemical industry.
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Certifications for Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, and Crane & Rigging Level II is required.
Journeyman experience is preferred.
Completion of college level Basic Millwright / Machinist program is preferred.
NCCER Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright is preferred.
NCCER Certification as a Boilermaker is preferred.
NCCO Crane and NCCO Rigger (or NCCER Rigger) is preferred.
Experience in general :
Experience in the petrochemical industry required and should include experience in safe practices such as Lock Out / Tag Out.
Technical skills :
Read and understand instructions of a technical nature reflecting the requirements of the job; this includes interpreting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and drawings, manuals, and set-up procedures.
Troubleshooting and repair of blowers, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, fans and material handling equipment, positive displacement pumps.
Experience in the repair and overhaul of large centrifugal compressors and multi-stage steam turbines would be an asset
