The INEOS Nitriles Green Lake Plant located near Victoria, Texas, is a world scale, state of the art chemical complex. The primary product from this site is Acrylonitrile, a chemical intermediate used in the production of acrylic fibers, plastics, and nitrile rubber. Acetonitrile and Hydrogen Cyanide are co-products of the Acrylonitrile production process. Acetonitrile is purified through a proprietary process to produce a very high-quality material with little waste generated.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for developing and delivering projects from conception through completion. Working with a diverse group of INEOS and contractor personnel, the Project Manager will have the accountability of delivering multiple capital projects which include equipment replacements, efficiency and quality improvements, and safety / environmental enhancements.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Promotes and enforces INEOS 20 Principals and Global Life Saving Rules and ensures contractor compliance.
- Plan and lead the development of engineering / design, construction and inspection / QC strategies for multiple projects up to $30mm / year.
- Responsible for the safe design and installation of projects, in particular safety during the execution of the project.
- Champion safe work practices among his / her work group and contractors.
- Account for all aspects of project performance including schedule, cost, operation, reliability and close out.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable government and company regulations, policies and standards.
- Interface with other plant departments to share project design, priority and status information.
- Work with the Procurement department to procure materials and services as required, including the Storehouse Manager for parts and capital spares associated with assigned projects.
- Participates in the MOC process, performs MOC reviews on all projects involving change to process equipment and operations.
- Works as a job representative for outside contractors working in the plant.
- Participates in audits, inspections and interviews, including BBS, housekeeping, 20 Principles, etc.
- Participate and assist as needed during plant outages and turnarounds. This may include longer hours.
