Job Description:
Acute Care Nurse duties and responsibilities
An Acute Care Nurse’s primary responsibility is to deliver the necessary care that patients require to increase the likelihood of positive outcomes from medical treatment. Some important Acute Care Nurse job duties include:
- Administering blood transfusions and infusions
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs
- Diagnosing the causes of sudden changes in patient condition and giving urgent treatments when required
- Carrying out treatment plans by administering medication
- Assessing diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and radiographs (X-rays) and performing them in some circumstances
- Delivering emergency medical care, such as cardiac life support, when patients are in crisis
- Updating patients’ health information to ensure accurate record keeping
- Working with Physicians and other members of the care team to revise treatment plans when needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- WA State Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- NIHSS Certification
- 1 year of Acute Care Nurse experience.
- Must be fully covid vaxxed
