Position : Cabling Manager
Locations : Maitland, FL
Employment Type : 3 Months Contract
Objectives
Ensure the installation of network and power cabling is performed in compliance with industry standards.
Optimize the physical layout of server room cabling for operational efficiency and maintenance ease.
Maintain proper labeling, documentation, and organization of cables for future audits and troubleshooting.
Minimize downtime during the implementation of changes or upgrades.
Ensure that safety and security protocols are adhered to within all server rooms and data centers.
Scope of Work :
The Cabling Manager will be responsible for :
Planning, designing, and executing cabling work for the server rooms and data centers in Jacksonville, Maitland, and Boca Raton .
Managing the installation of network cables (fiber, copper, and other required types) and power cabling infrastructure.
Organizing and labeling cables for efficient management and maintenance.
Ensuring that all cable pathways, racks, trays, and conduits are installed to meet safety standards and ensure easy access.
Removing outdated, damaged, or excess cabling and ensuring proper disposal.
Coordinating with the IT and facilities teams to minimize downtime during installation and maintenance work.
Conducting thorough testing of all installed cabling to ensure it meets performance and compliance as per ISMS standards.
Deliverables :
It will be expected to deliver the following for each location :
A detailed project plan with timelines for cabling work.
An inventory of materials and cables required for each site.
Structured cabling installation and proper labeling of all cables.
Final documentation including cable pathways, labeling charts, and testing results.
Post-installation testing and verification reports.
Recommendations for future cabling upgrades or optimizations.
Roles & Responsibilities :
Oversee all aspects of the cabling installation, including vendor coordination and procurement of materials.
Maintain strict adherence to company security and safety protocols.
Ensure that all work complies with ISMS standards.
Provide weekly progress reports to the CIO WPS team and notify them immediately of any issues or delays.
Supervise technicians and ensure that all work is completed within the agreed timeline.
All existing cabling will be assessed for reuse, and new cabling will only be installed where necessary, or replace the existing.
Access to server rooms and data centers will be granted during non-peak hours or as per the agreed-upon schedule to avoid disruptions.
Required power and network equipment will be made available by the company.
Any changes or additional work outside the original scope will require approval and may incur additional charges.
All installed cabling must pass performance tests and comply with ISMS standards for structured cabling.

All work must be completed within the agreed-upon timeframe and budget.
