Job Title : SQL Server DBA
Job Location : Norfolk, VA
Duration : Contract
- Work with the application teams to design data models and implement them in test and production environments.
- Identify performance bottlenecks related to database processing and work with architects and application teams to improve performance.
- Install, configure and migrate SQL server databases and servers.
- Develop and run scripts to automate administration tasks.
- Perform database monitoring, error prevention and maintenance automation.
- Conduct capacity planning for small and large projects.
- Setup database environments for various testing purposes.
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
- Support after-hours maintenance
- Support weekly on-call rotations
- Candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision, must be a self-starter and lead aspects of project work as needed
