Job description:
For a QA Tester working on a mapping application that displays information about an electrical grid, several specialized skill sets are recommended. These include:
- Domain Knowledge:
- Understanding of electrical grid operations, terminologies, and components like substations, transformers, power lines, etc.
- Technical Skills:
- GIS (Geographic Information Systems): Knowledge of GIS concepts, tools, and software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Mapping Software: Experience with mapping libraries or frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, Google Maps API).
- Database Management: Proficiency in querying and managing spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server with spatial features).
- Testing Skills:
- Manual Testing: Strong skills in writing and executing test cases, test plans, and reporting bugs.
- Automated Testing: Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks for both UI and back-end testing (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG for functional testing, and JMeter for performance testing).
