Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Non-Sterile Compounding Technician to join our growing team. This role will entail carefully preparing non-sterile medications of the highest quality to meet the needs of individual patients. The ideal candidate has previous compounding experience, math skills, and strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills are a must, as the non-sterile technician must be in constant collaboration with pharmacists and fellow technicians. This role will also provide the opportunity to cross-train in Sterile compounding.
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-Time
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Hourly rate: $20-$25 DOE
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with DEA, FDA, USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, and USP <71> standards.
- Create new formulas and update existing formulas while collaborating with the pharmacist.
- Compounding of non-sterile preparations such as capsules, creams, troches, oral solutions, and other topicals.
- Ensure the compounding lab is cleaned and maintained in accordance with procedures and current guidelines.
- Maintenance, calibration and proper documentation of scales, electronic meters, etc.
- Participate in regular audits and inspections.
- Work closely with facility Pharmacists and internal Quality Assurance personnel.
- Must be capable of donning and wearing all protective wear as required by procedure for each area. This includes, but not limited to: mask, gloves, lab coat, coveralls, hairnet, safety goggles and shoe covers
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of compounding experience is required
- Active PTCB Certification and Arizona State License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding and adherence to HIPAA guidelines
- Physical ability to stand and/or sit for up to a 9-hour shift
- Able to routinely lift up to 30 pounds
