General Summary
Under the general direction of the Director, Organ Recovery, the Administrator on Call (AOC) facilitates organ donation in the Infinite Legacy service area by providing oversight and direction to the daily on-call teams managing the local donation activity. Responsibilities for this position include allocation of Infinite Legacy staff to complete clinical activities and direct communication with Infinite Legacy staff, local and non-local surgical teams, and hospital representatives in a timely manner. The AOC is expected to problem solve with team members and provide clinical and logistical expertise in all areas of the donation process. The AOC promotes staff adherence to all regulatory and accrediting agency standards, as well as all internal Infinite Legacy organizational policies, procedures and guidelines.
This is a full-time position requiring 7 (bi-weekly), 12-hour shifts, to include nights, weekends and holidays. Additional shifts may be required to ensure appropriate schedule coverage.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Biology, Allied Health, or Communications preferred.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in the clinical setting of organ, eye & tissue donation required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated excellent judgment, conflict resolution, decision making and organization skills. Ability to problem solve in stressful situations.
- Previous AOC experience or role with operational decision-making experience in a clinical environment preferred.
- Provides consistent, evidence-based critical thinking and decision support while considering appropriate resource management decisions.
- Engages proactively in donation referral and case activity by providing thorough, in-depth guidance to the clinical operations team members utilizing highly developed clinical expertise and advanced knowledge of the donation process.
- Collaborates with Medical Director(s) and other consults in evaluating donor suitability and setting appropriate allocation plans.
- Provides real-time direction and guidance to staff for donor identification, evaluation, authorization, clinical management, allocation and surgical recovery directed towards maximizing every donation opportunity; responds to staff's needs in a timely manner.
- Maintains an awareness of all active referrals, closed referrals and pending activity to ensure optimal use of available resources.
- Ensures consistent application and compliance with regulatory standards/requirements as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Participates in daily calls and huddles.
- Communicates with departmental leaders for follow up, staffing needs or conflict resolution to include OCME/ Authorization challenges.
- Manages, leads and/or participates as an SME in recovery-related workgroups, projects and contracts. May be assigned on-going and/or ad hoc tasks that support departmental and/or organizational performance.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives, identifying trends and supporting involvement in regular case activity review process. Identifies agenda items for the AOC meeting.
- Provides regulatory oversight and verification of critical aspects of the donation process such as death notes, hemodilution, increased risk status, serology results, allocation variances, etc.
- Participates in the data validation process (for example, to include but not limited to, final disposition review, donor disposition feedback, case completion verification, closing cases).
- Performs validation and review needed to complete invoicing.
- Participates in monthly AOC schedule process.
- Participates in special projects, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May require extended hours during emergencies.
- Frequent and prolonged use of CRT screen may produce visual fatigue.
- Possible mental fatigue and stress associated with emergencies and management issues.
- This position is Level 2 - Minimal level of exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and TB. Employees may at times be in a hospital setting and may have exposure to packaged organs and tissues for transplant and/or research.
