General Job Summary :
Under the general direction of the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Communications Coordinator (CC), will assist the department by researching, drafting and executing written content including newsletter and magazine articles, blogs, social media and marketing materials designed to educate the public about organ, eye and tissue donation and to increase the number of people who register as donors. The CC interacts with donor family members, living donors, transplant recipients and their families, volunteers, members of the media, advertising representatives, health care professionals and members of the community, including various multicultural groups.
Position may require travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Health or Journalism; or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in communications, journalism, social media or public relations.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Strong written, oral communication, grammar, punctuation and spelling and research / editing proficiency.Demonstrated project and time management skills are a must.Proficiency with website publishing / management and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, etc.).Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office, Canva Pro, Google Analytics, WIX or WordPress.Background in healthcare communications or journalism and experience giving public presentations preferred.Up to date on Associated Press style and best practices in content / health science writing.Proven ability to make frequent, quick decisions that demonstrate good judgment.A team player with a can-do attitude.Duties / Responsibilities :
Researches and writes compelling articles, blogs and other content on a variety of topics that raise awareness about organ and tissue donation publication on Infinite Legacy run websites, blogs, newsletters, and third-party channels. Writes copy for news media opportunities including pitches and news releases, as well as for a hospital audience. Uses Associated Press (AP) style and adheres to the Infinite Legacy style guide and brand standards.Conducts and executes successful marketing and communications campaigns across all platforms to increase donor designation.Develops and updates content for infinitelegacy.org and other sites; Includes posting and publishing content and ensuring the website is informative and up to date.Collaborates with Infinite Legacy staff and subject matter experts to develop relevant, meaningful written content.Creates and schedules creative and engaging content for all Infinite Legacy social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, blogs and podcasts.Maintains a consistent voice throughout all communications and responds thoughtfully and in real-time to inquiries or complaints that arise from social media correspondence.Briefs the Director, Communications and Marketing on any messages or comments that could impact the reputation of Infinite Legacy.Manages website content for all Infinite Legacy run websites, mailing lists, SEO development, and tracking analytics to ensure all content is up-to-date and relevant. In addition, gather and analyze consumer behavior data in web traffic and rankings.Manages relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of all graphic design, printing, and promotional needs.Works to enhance and strengthen positive visibility for Infinite Legacy through attendance at various local and national professional events / conferences / meetings.Delivers reports on monthly analytics across web and social platforms translating data into recommendations and strategic plans using Sprout Social and Google Analytics, or other relevant software. Reviews documentation, reports, dashboard, and other data, reporting the results on a regular basis to the Director of Communications and Marketing.Develops and maintains strong working relationships with colleagues and participate fully as a team member of the Communications and Marketing department.Monitors media coverage (or mentions) of Infinite Legacy, local Donate Life State Teams, and donation and transplantation stories using Google Alerts and or a third-party monitoring system.Provides communications and marketing support to other departments within Infinite Legacy, which includes reviewing and approving materials to ensure they follow brand guidelines.Photographs and shoots video of Infinite Legacy events and community events for print and web materials for internal and external use. In addition, supports and promotes high-level Infinite Legacy events and other community events as needed.All other duties as assigned.Working Conditions :
This position requires consistent availability, travel, and certain physical, language, and communication abilities, including :
Attention to detail and use of a computer screen may produce mental and visual fatigue.Travel to meetings, presentations, and other appointments throughout the Infinite Legacy service area as needed.Willingness and ability to attend community events including evenings, nights, and weekends.Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured automobile for transportation.Manual dexterity sufficient to operate telephones and computers.Ability to accurately communicate, converse, and exchange information in English over the telephone and in person.Computer literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment and demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office software programs.This position is Level 3 – Low to no exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and no exposure to TB.
