As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Dispatch Manager to oversee our daily moving operations and ensure seamless coordination between our teams and customers.
Position Overview:
The Dispatch Manager is a key player in our operations, responsible for ensuring the seamless coordination of moving crews, vehicles, and schedules. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a knack for problem-solving to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily dispatch of moving crews and vehicles to meet client needs.
- Develop efficient schedules and routes to optimize time and resources.
- Act as the primary point of contact for crew members and drivers regarding assignments and updates.
- Handle last-minute changes or emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of assignments, mileage, hours worked, crew performance and fleet operations.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to address client inquiries and concerns.
- Oversee fleet maintenance schedules to ensure all vehicles are in safe working condition. Conduct daily check-in / check-out, and restocking
- Management of Supplies; inventory equipment, tools and supplies, order and restock supplies.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist in Hiring; interview, screen and train new hires, including light/medium duty truck drivers.
- Handle disciplinary concerns and taking corrective action.
- Assist movers on jobs, only at times of short staffing or changes in service demand. Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to lift 100lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in dispatch or operations management in the moving industry.
- Strong leadership, organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in dispatching software and basic office applications.
- 2 years of experience driving 26ft box trucks and clean driving history.
- Knowledge of local and regional geography is a plus.
