Job Title: DBT IOP Therapist
Department: Clinical
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The DBT Focused IOP Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mental health services to clients within an intensive outpatient setting. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support client’s mental health and substance abuse recovery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide individual and group DBT therapy sessions to clients in the IOP program.
- Conduct screenings and assessments for mental health and substance abuse disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on client needs.
- Facilitate DBT skills groups and psychoeducation sessions, ensuring client participation and progress.
- Providing crisis and/or supportive counseling, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Monitor and document client progress, treatment outcomes, and changes in clinical status.
- Completing incident reports as required and notifying appropriate administration when necessary.
- Counsels’ family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for client.
- Refers clients to other support services as needed such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
- Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
- Work closely with the clinical and medical staff to coordinate client care.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings weekly.

QUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Texas Department of Health & Human Services, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Associate (LPC-Associate), or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Google Suite, and have the ability to chart on an electronic medical records system.
