Summer Camp Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Counselor to join our team. As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers while leading a variety of fun and engaging activities. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to foster a positive and supportive environment for campers of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Supervision of Campers: Actively monitor and supervise campers during all activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Planning and Leading Activities: Develop and implement a diverse range of activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, swimming, outdoor exploration, and more, tailored to different age groups and interests.
• Group Management: Foster a positive group dynamic by facilitating team-building exercises, encouraging collaboration, and addressing any conflicts or issues among campers.
• Communication with Parents: Regularly update parents on camper progress, address concerns, and maintain open, consistent communication to ensure a positive camp experience.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies, follow established safety protocols, and provide first aid when necessary.
• Maintaining Camp Facilities: Assist in keeping camp areas clean, organized, and safe for all campers and staff.
• Enforcing Camp Rules: Clearly communicate and uphold camp policies and guidelines to campers, ensuring a respectful and safe environment.
• Adapting to Individual Needs: Identify and support campers with special needs or dietary restrictions, providing individualized attention and care when needed.

• Leadership Abilities: Confidence in leading groups, making decisions, and providing guidance and support to campers.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively plan and manage daily schedules and activities.
• Creativity: Ability to design engaging and fun activities that cater to the diverse interests of campers.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to be active outdoors for extended periods and participate in various activities.
• Positive Attitude: Enthusiasm and a positive, can-do attitude when engaging with campers and fellow staff members.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children (camp experience is a plus).
• First aid and CPR certification preferred (training may be provided).
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
