Job Description:
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Supervisor, the role is responsible for implementing the mine model within an autonomous system for hauling operations. The position also involves providing support to operational controllers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the autonomous fleet effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure the mine model is up-to-date and proactively manage it for new and prospective mining areas.
- Maximize equipment productivity and efficiency in line with the operational and maintenance plan.
- Maintain the integrity of the mine model by ensuring the virtual road network replicates the physical road network.
- Provide a high-level review of the system’s operation, user interaction, stakeholder visibility, and data captured by the system.
- Quality assurance of the material file import and export process.
- Investigate and resolve causes of cycle issues.
- Maintain onboard files.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for the system.
- Execute, support, and enforce health and safety programs as required by company policies and procedures.

Operations Management:

- Accurately complete documentation and data entry.
- Troubleshoot system issues and escalate unresolved issues.
- Monitor system performance and processes to meet key performance indicators.
Training and Assistance:
- Undertake required training to gain new skills.
- Provide training and coaching to other personnel as necessary.
Performance Management:
- Prioritize tasks to meet shift objectives.
- Follow established operating procedures.
- Complete and validate shift reports, handovers, and document issues for follow-up.
Communication and Liaison:
- Communicate promptly when plans or decisions change.
- Ensure effective communication with peers and supervisors to foster safe and harmonious working relationships.
- Follow supervisor direction in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant college diploma or university degree in fields such as engineering, robotics, or autonomous systems is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in an open pit mining or autonomous operations environment.
- Action-oriented and customer-focused with the ability to influence others.
- Strong negotiation skills to navigate competing priorities.
- Organizational skills to make complex decisions and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with fleet management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements:
- Advanced computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage under pressure.
- Knowledge of open pit mining and autonomous operations.
- Exposure to Autonomous Mining Systems is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills.
Working Conditions:
- This role operates on a shift-based schedule, requiring coordination across day and night shifts.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
