What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant/ Transport position at Infinity Healthcare Consulting?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with landscaping tasks, mowing, trimming, planting, etc.
- Maintain lawn care equipment.
- Maintain exterior/interior door locks.
- Maintain/repair/clean windows and screens.
- Clean and/or paint exterior surfaces as needed.
- Replace burned out light bulbs in all areas of the facility.
- Clean/change air filters.
- Clean/vacuum refrigerator/freezer coils and compressors.
- Service heating and cooling units according to manufacturer guidelines and facility policies and procedures.
- Assist with fire drills and building evacuations.
- Complete life safety code assignments.
- Assist in maintaining plant operations and life safety records.
- Complete safety audits as assigned.
- Maintain handicapped bars in baths.
- Assist with HVAC, electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Repair/replace light fixtures.
- Test and record water temperatures.
- Repair call systems, cords, call bells, bed alarms, chair alarms.
- Perform commercial washer and dryer preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure fire extinguishers are current and in proper working order.
- Perform minor equipment repair.
- Perform carpentry duties, operate saws, hand tools, etc.
- Repair/remove/replace ceiling tile.
- Repair walls, paint, caulk, strip and stain furniture, repair floor tile, install dry wall.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with commercial maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, electrical systems,alarm systems, appliances, commercial stoves, refrigerators, air-conditioning and heating units.
- General construction experience preferred.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must display professionalism both in appearance and attitude.
- Must possess the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must genuinely care for and understand the elderly and other persons with various disabilities.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with peers, residents, family members, visitors,government agency personnel and the general public.
- Must possess the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must have patience, tact, a positive disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult people.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

. Prior to driving the bus/van, proper instruction and/or training will be provided by the facility Administrator or designee to the facility bus/van driver on its proper operation
2. Portrays a pleasant, always accommodating attitude and a professional appearance.
3. Reports to work as scheduled
4. Attends all mandatory meetings
5. Per the procedure below, the facility bus/van driver will transport residents/staff to a designated area as required and appointments will be scheduled during the van drivers regular shift:
6. The transportation coordinator will notify the facility van driver of outside scheduled appointments
7. Will coordinate the availability of the van and arrange for supervision of residents as necessary in the event the family cannot be present for the appointment
8. Will maintain a log of all trips by documenting all travel onto the mileage log/trip sheet that will be located and retained inside the bus/van
9. Monthly mileage logs are to be filed and keep at the facility
10. Maintains van appearance. Completes daily check lists
11. Ensures all bus passengers are safely seated.
12. Observes speed limits and obeys road signs.
13. Reports and corrects all safety violations
14. Completes bus/van log daily and turns in sheets at the end of each month
15. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Administrator
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (No DUI convictions in the past (10) years.)
2. Must have a high school diploma or GED and will be at minimum CPR certified
