What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Infinity Pediatric Dentistry?
We are looking for a dental assistant to join our growing pediatric dental practice! Our office has been open for one year with all new facilities and equipment.
Our mission at Infinity Pediatric Dentistry is to provide safe, compassionate, and fun dental experiences to children in the greater Lafayette area. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, comfortable working with children, and interested in growing with practice. This position will allow for growth. Expanded function dental assistants and pediatrics experience are preferred, but we are willing to train for the right candidate that fits the office culture.
Responsibilities include:
-Welcome and seat patient with a friendly, cheerful demeanor.
-Prepare and properly set up treatment rooms for hygiene and operative procedures.
- Provide patient education, oral hygiene instruction, and give pre- and post-operative
instructions when indicated
- Encourage and educate patients on the importance of dental treatment.
- Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to OSHA and office procedures.
- Assist chairside during administration of nitrous oxide.
- Complete scheduled treatment in the scheduled time frame.
- Make preliminary impressions for study casts and/or appliances.
- Record and review medical and dental histories, existing/new/completed treatment
information, and chart notes in Open Dental.
- Expose dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Complete coronal polishing.
- Apply sealants, fluorides, and other interim caries arresting medicaments (silver diamine
fluoride).
- Clean and stock operatories; inform owner when supplies need re-ordered.
- Educate and motivate patient on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventative measures.
- Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Work chairside with doctor as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
- Be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
- Be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
- Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
