Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and corporate accounting practices. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accountant will work closely with various departments, including human resources, to support benefits administration and payroll processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associates Degree or higher preferred.
· 2 Experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
· Knowledge of general accounting procedures and processes.
· Ability to receive and log invoices, update AP ledger and generate reports.
· Strong analytical skills specifically in relation to Account reconciliation and Coding, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
· Treats people with respect; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.
· Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Supports the team's efforts to succeed.
· Computer Skills – MS Windows and Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
· Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Communicate with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries.
· Receiving and uploading Vendor invoices in AP document storage software.
· Posting Vendor invoices and credit notes in Sage, ensuring accurate Coding.
· Payment Application and reconciliation in Sage.
· Preparing Vendor payments for timely Manager approval and payment.
· Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email.
· Proactively communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and outstanding creditor issues.
· Assists in monthly census reporting and reconciliations.
· Support departments policy updates and implementation
· Perform other tasks as apportioned by the Controller and CEO.
