Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the on-site technical support to the Protected Band Cell at the Regional SATCOM Support Center (RSSC) East, the team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of the Mission Planning Element (MPE) and associated hardware and software
- Provide support for core hours identified as regular office hours, 0730 to 1630, though the nature of the short notice taskings may require the Contractor to adjust to meet requirements
- Our on-site support for the Mission Planning Element (MPE) and Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) hardware and software at the RSSC is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted operations and providing immediate technical assistance when needed
- Our responsibility for Level 1 maintenance and associated preventive maintenance for the AN/TSCA 154, AEHF Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (ASMART-T) at all four RSSC locations is crucial for ensuring reliability and functionality of this equipment. This will include End Cryptographic Unit endorsement actions in support of the ASMART-T
- Provides operational planning support with the ability to troubleshoot issues RSSC Planners have while using MPE software. Assist in resolving mission requirements and communication plan issues when present due to complex satellite access requests (SAR)
- As you interface with all RSSCs, remember that your support extends to users worldwide, making you an integral part of our global operations and a key player in our collaborative efforts
- Conducts configuration management for the local RSSC MPE RM databases and supports operations of the RM distribution through organic MPE function of CAM, CAM-D, and Mission Operations Data Capture, as well as other contingency means if necessary
- Acts as primary System Administrator for the Protected Band Cell Mission Planning Software Suite. The System Administrator performs general housekeeping tasks such as user login management, resetting accounts, changing passwords, hardware, and log monitoring/management. Installation, operations, and maintenance of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Mission specific software will ensure the RSSCs are compliant and utilizing only the latest/approved software increments and virus protection updates as distributed through the Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS)
- Supports the centrally managed resource allocation functions (i.e., Rapid Adaptive Planning (RAP), Allocated Resource Manager (ARM), etc. necessary for the RSSC to meet their designated mission
- Provides appropriate OS and Database Administrative functions, including scenario database cleanup, archival, unlocking, and restoration
- Configures COTS to perform automatic nightly backup and verifies recovery and backup functions are performed
- Per requirements, coordinates the delivery of new equipment and the disposition of legacy equipment
- Support RSSC personnel in MPE-related meetings, i.e., Deficiency Review Boards, MPE Working Group, etc.
- Develop technical solutions to mission planning of requests resulting in satellite allocation of resources. Assist users with troubleshooting and live resource queries
- Perform necessary Virtual Private Network (VPN) updates and maintenance, coordinating with the vendor and the local communications squadron regarding connection issues
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 -10 years of Milstar/AEHF experience
- 3 years of System Administrator experience
- Current Security Certification (8570 compliance)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Database Configuration Management skills
- CISCO VPN knowledge
