Position Overview
The MCSB SST Senior Communications Manager is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the networking infrastructure for Buildings 712 and 820. This role involves serving as the primary point of contact for all NIPR, SIPR, and unclassified phone troubleshooting, updates, and system refreshes. Additionally, the Senior Communications Manager will lead IT equipment installations and upgrades, manage IT inventory, and coordinate with various mission entities and vendors to support mission operations.
The Senior Communications Manager supports facility maintenance by ensuring robust and reliable networking infrastructure, overseeing the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of IT systems, addressing any issues promptly to maximize functionality and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network problems, facilitating smooth operations, and providing essential support for mission-critical activities, thereby maintaining the overall efficiency and security of the facility’s communication networks.
THIS IS A CONTINGENT REQUIREMENT BASED UPON INFINITY'S RECEIPT OF THE LSS SUBCONTRACT WITH AN EXPECTED START DATE OF MARCH 1, 2025
Primary Responsibilities
- Networking Infrastructure Maintenance : Ensure the networking infrastructure for Buildings 712 and 820 is operational and meets mission requirements.
- Primary Point of Contact : Serve as the main POC for NIPR, SIPR, and unclassified phone systems, addressing troubleshooting, updates, and system refreshes.
- IT Inventory Management : Oversee IT inventory, including conducting quarterly audits to ensure accurate tracking and management of assets. Provide annual IT inventory audit to Schriever BECO.
- Equipment Installations and Upgrades : Lead the installation and upgrade of IT equipment for Buildings 712 and 820 to support current and future mission needs.
- Base-Wide IT Projects : Act as the primary POC for base-wide IT projects on Schriever Space Force Base affecting MCSB, coordinating efforts and ensuring successful execution.
- Equipment Disposition Coordination : Coordinate the disposition of equipment through the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLA-DS) and manage the DLA account for equipment receipt and removal.
- Mission Operations IT Support : Provide IT support for mission operations and training programs within the MCSB.
- Joint Operations Support : Assist incoming and tenant units in joint operations at the MCSB by providing them dedicated IT support.
