Job Summary:
ITS, LLC is looking for a Product Manager to work in a fast-paced Agile environment that ensures the accurate and timely design, development, and deployment of products and services that allows the large collection of NASA earth science data to be more discoverable by the end user community. Search and Discovery is an Agile Release Train in which the products and services are built as part of the NASA’s Earth Observing System Data Information System (EOSDIS) program, which provides end-to-end capabilities for managing NASA’s Earth science data from various sources – satellites, aircraft, field measurements, and other programs. Search and Discovery products include the Common Metadata Repository (CMR) and Earthdata Search Client (EDSC).This position will be onsite in Annapolis.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable cloud-based products that meet customer needs over time.
- Collaborating with a wide range of people to identify and define customer needs for cloud platform usage.
- Managing expectations and requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the Agile Release Train (ART) in delivering value through the Program Kanban and Continuous Delivery Pipeline Defining Releases and Program Increments (PI) priorities, as well as participating in PI planning.
- Managing and prioritizing the ART feature backlog, as well as ensuring product completeness.
- Developing and communicating the product vision and roadmap, for use towards coordinating the work of multiple Product Managers, ARTs, and Suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of people management, including relationship building with key stakeholders, communicating technical findings with non-technical stakeholders, and working with subcontractor team members, in agile development environments.
- Experience working with geospatial data and tools, especially those related to this program (Common Metadata Repository and Earthdata Search).
- Ability to ensure that developed products are moving in the right direction, in step with the product vision, goals, and objectives.
- Ability to align development efforts to meet end-user needs and customer’s goals
- Experience using metrics and data to drive a development team to a desired goal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience creating RACI charts.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience building software applications for enterprise scale systems.
- Experience using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), particularly as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
- Knowledge of metadata cataloging and search engine indexing.
- Experience with conflict management between two or more parties
