ABOUT THE JOB
The Torres Market Specialist is a dedicated sales and ambassador resource within their assigned region, with occasional national responsibilities. This role will establish, develop, and grow long term relationships for Torres Brandy, Magdala Orange Liqueur, and Casals Mediterranean Vermouth in high-volume and highly rated on and off-premise establishments within Florida, with a heavy concentration in Miami and the surrounding Southern Florida area.
The Torres Market Specialist will build relationships with these key accounts and distributor representatives to deliver on assigned personal and company goals and objectives. This role is expected to develop a key target account list, ideally using prior relationships, and collaborate with the local sales team to deliver a strong performance across new and existing business within the market.
The ideal candidate in this role will maximize the performance of these brands to increase business opportunities and generate revenue from the key target account list, complementing and adding to the efforts of our sales and distributor teams. In this role, you are expected to become the preferred resource within these establishments for trainings, tastings, education, events, and staff development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Create and call on a targeted key account list influenced by brand guidelines, volume, and tastemakers in your assigned region to sell in/grow Torres Brandy, Magdala Orange Liqueur, and Casals Mediterranean Vermouth.
- Develop sales and product knowledge to effectively educate and taste accounts on products.
- Sell in products and consult with the buyers on strategies that will collectively enhance both businesses.
- Build relationships and be the primary contact for the ultimate decision-maker in target accounts, relevant local industry groups and events.
- Fully understand the individual business models for all target accounts, including profit margins, revenue model, desired revenue targets, and pour costs.
- Maximize profitability for all parties involved and understand that all transactions must be profitable.
- Identify opportunities and then develop and execute programs in accounts to increase sales.
- Develop and grow relationship and opportunities with all local USBG chapters.
- Effectively service and merchandise target accounts with POS.
- Communicate issues, opportunities, and market intelligence with appropriate management.
- Clearly communicate “reasons to believe” and “opportunities to buy” to all relevant customers.
- Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, objectives, goals, and targeted revenue generation in the specified market.
- Manage key distributor relationships-including but not limited to pricing models, programs, incentives, and the ability to audit billbacks and take corrective action when needed.
- Assist and participate in trade and consumer events.
- Comfortably speak publicly about products, at events, or at staff trainings or other promotional events.
- Maintain a social media following via Facebook, Twitter & Instagram that adheres to corporate policy.
- Stay in compliance with legal guidelines and regulations at federal, state, and local ABC levels.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree or related field experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
- Required
- 3 years of experience in the wine & spirits (or related) industry
- Must be Bilingual Spanish - speak/read/write
- Preferred
- 2 years of experience in related role within specified market
Skills/Traits:
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with management, field sales teams, supplier partners and customers throughout the business and industry
- Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws required
- Knowledge of finance and budgeting processes. Ability to prepare budgets and manage expenses within budget
- Comfortable speaking publicly about products, at events, or at staff trainings or other promotional events
- Knowledge of key consumption occasions, shopper messaging, and methods of activation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong presentation skills
- Bilingual – able to speak, read, and write in Spanish proficiently
- Must be able to travel 20% of the time
- Must be able to work weeknights and weekends
Physical requirements:
- Standing and walking: working in retail or conducting field sales requires spending a significant amount of time on your feet; this could include standing for long periods or walking for extended periods throughout the day.
- Lifting and carrying: this role may involve lifting and carrying product samples, promotional materials, or demonstration equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Driving: a significant amount of time will be spent driving, so sitting for long periods, navigating through traffic, and handling the physical demands of operating a vehicle are required.
- Physical presentations: must be able to stand, gesture, and maintain a high level of energy and engagement throughout presentations to clients/potential customers.
