Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting Team. In this role, you will assist with recording and reconciling general ledger activity as well as with the procurement of goods and services necessary for company operations. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to begin or further a career in accounting. The position is full-time, on-site, and based in Midtown, Sacramento, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare various reconciliations and analysis of GL account activity, creating journal entries to record transactions as needed
• Prepare bank reconciliations, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
• Provide support for the annual financial statement audit
• Assist with processing employee reimbursements
• Assist in purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for company operations.
• Collect required documents for vendor onboarding, such as W-9s, ACH instructions, and Certificates of Insurance.
• Support the creation and processing of purchase orders (POs).
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, accounts payable, and internal stakeholders to facilitate purchasing activities.
• Improve and document general processes for assigned areas
• Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects, as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• 1 years of experience as an accounting professional (open to recent college grads with an excellent GPA)
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other organizational tools
• Team-player with a willingness to learn and adapt in a start-up environment
• Basic understanding of procurement procedures is preferred but not essential
• A pre-employment background check is required

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $85,000, dependent on experience
