Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Working knowledge of healthcare operations and processes within a hospital setting, with a foundational understanding of educational principles
Exceptional presentation and communications skills
Ability to apply the principles of adult learning in the design and delivery of training
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
In the DERC/Diabetes Center, Dieticians are required to have one of the following:
- Current Alabama RN license
- Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama
*Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama
In the DERC/Diabetes Center, Dieticians are required to have current registration as a Dietician (CDR) with the American Dietetic Association
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Working knowledge of adult learning principles, educational methodology and instructional design
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Certified Diabetes Educator credential if working in Diabetes Education and Resource Center
Responsibilities
Designs and conducts educational programs to meet organizational, audience and/or regulatory demands and to support achievement of Infirmary Health's (IH’s) standards of quality, efficiency, and desired outcomes.
