The Florida Department of Revenue, Property Tax Oversight (PTO) Program is seeking an experienced Database Administrator/Architect to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a Snowflake-based data warehouse and associated low-code ETL pipelines. This role is instrumental in enhancing the PTO s data accessibility and analytical capabilities, supporting mission-critical property tax oversight activities.
Key Responsibilities:
< class="" data-start="1000" data-end="1050">1. Data Warehouse Design & ImplementationArchitect and implement a secure, scalable Snowflake data warehouse.
Design data models, schemas, and flexible architecture strategies.
Define and implement performance tuning, disaster recovery, and cost optimization strategies.
Assist in selecting and deploying a no/low-code ETL platform (e.g., Matillion, Talend, Informatica).
Configure connectivity between Snowflake and data sources.
Ensure high performance, reliability, and data integrity during ETL processes.
Collaborate with DOR IT to configure Azure-based virtual desktops for data scientists.
Integrate Snowflake with Power BI and advanced analytics tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS).
Ingest data from varied sources (SQL, Oracle, flat files).
Troubleshoot and document integration/ETL issues.
Maintain architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and flow documentation.
Implement RBAC, SSO via Azure Entra ID, and MFA using Cisco Duo.
Ensure encryption, monitoring, and compliance with Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2, NIST, IRS 1075, and state-level data governance policies.
Liaise with business analysts, developers, engineers, and end-users.
Provide training, documentation, and post-implementation support.
Ensure project milestones and deliverables are completed on time.
Required Skills & Experience:
10 years in data warehouse architecture/design/implementation.
5 years with Snowflake, including setup and administration.
3 years working with no/low-code ETL platforms.
Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and relational databases.
Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data integration best practices.
Experience supporting data warehouse initiatives within hybrid network environments (cloud/on-prem).
Proficient in project-based environments and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Skills:
Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent troubleshooting, organization, and analytical skills.
Ability to self-direct, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Experience integrating analytics tools with Snowflake (Power BI, SPSS, R, Python).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure cloud environments.
Education:
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field is required.
Master s Degree preferred.
