We are seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Architect to design, manage, and optimize virtual desktop infrastructure, cloud environments, and enterprise-wide IT systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms, strong analytical skills, and a strategic mindset for modernizing and securing IT operations.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, upgrade, administer, test, and modify the virtual desktop infrastructure environment.
- Assist in modernization and migration efforts for applications, data, and infrastructure.
- Manage and oversee Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoft platforms.
- Maintain identity platforms and a multi-cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration and security.
- Lead and coordinate technology initiatives across multiple domains, including infrastructure, application development, data management, cybersecurity, and compliance.
- Automate processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
- Develop and manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and pipelines.
- Troubleshoot issues related to application development and enterprise architecture.
- Present findings and recommendations on new technologies and enterprise-wide enhancements.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 4 years of equivalent experience).
- 2-3 years of experience as a Microsoft Azure Cloud Systems Architect (required).
- 2-3 years of experience with other cloud providers like AWS or GCP (preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in information systems engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience supporting middleware such as API management, IT service automation tools, and batch job services (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture (required).
- 2-3 years of experience administering Microsoft software (preferred).
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying IT needs and optimizing performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Services, Microsoft Server products, and Power Platform.
- Knowledge of Linux administration (RedHat & Ubuntu), IT infrastructure, and application development technologies.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, system automation, and strategic IT planning.
- Ability to research, identify, and implement innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills for effectively documenting processes and conveying knowledge.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and state/federal IT compliance policies.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level risk management, cost-benefit analysis, and IT governance.
- Strong background in security hardening, identity & access management, and cloud-based application hosting.
