Primary Work: Serve as an Alteryx Data Engineer for the Data & Analytics
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and architectures using Alteryx Designer.
- Develop and maintain logical data models using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
- Read, write, and update data, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Manage and maintain ETL code repositories.
- Perform ad hoc data cleansing and transformation.
- Implement data quality control procedures to monitor accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Define data quality standards and execute monitoring processes.
- Identify data issues and develop remediation plans.
- Optimize data workflows and algorithms for scalability and reliability.
- Configure and manage SAS Viya analytics platform as needed.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in data engineering and environmental science.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimize data governance, security, and models.
- Monitor and tune data system performance, including caching and indexing strategies.
- Transform raw data using cleansing, aggregation, filtering, and enrichment techniques.
- Establish governance for data and analytical applications.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- 3-5 years of experience in data engineering with Alteryx Designer, including ETL processes.
- Proficiency in Alteryx Designer (Level 4).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (Level 3).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex datasets (Level 3).
- Knowledge of relational database design and data modeling (Level 3).
- Ability to work independently and manage work priorities effectively (Level 3).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Level 3).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships (Level 3).
