Job Description
Government Proposal Writer will be responsible for developing, writing, and managing high-quality proposals in response to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs). This role requires a strong understanding of state procurement processes, the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, and excellent writing and editing skills to ensure compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals. This is a part-time, hybrid opportunity.
Key Responsibilities :
Analyze RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs to understand requirements and develop compliant proposal responses.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, business development, and contracts teams, to gather necessary information.
Write, edit, and format technical and non-technical proposal sections, including executive summaries, past performance, and technical approaches.
Develop proposal outlines, storyboards, and compliance matrices.
Conduct research to enhance proposal content and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Manage proposal schedules and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
Review and proofread proposals for clarity, compliance, and grammatical accuracy.
Maintain and update a repository of proposal templates and reusable content.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
2 years of experience writing government proposals (state and local).
Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management software.
Experience with Shipley or other proposal development methodologies is a plus.
