Job Details
Project Management:
- Under general supervision, manage and coordinate all tasks necessary to migrate mainframe applications to the AWS Cloud.
- Provide project management consultation for all aspects of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure.
- Manage schedules, risks, issues, and interdependencies, with an understanding of on-premise and cloud technologies.
Initiation Phase:
- Help clients determine the best approaches for achieving objectives.
- Develop plans for scope management, risk management, communications, change control, and performance measurement.
Execution Phase:
- Monitor performance, report project status to management, and address pertinent issues, including milestones and risks.
- Conduct status meetings, assess proposed changes, and recommend courses of action to project sponsors.
Project Completion:
- Verify that project deliverables meet client expectations.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions.
General Support:
- Promote and support Project Management Office (PMO) policies and processes.
Job Duties
- Identify opportunities for improvement in project performance and implement necessary changes.
- Brief and present project status to agency and state-level executives.
- Develop time and cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaborate with security, architecture, and quality assurance teams to maintain system standards and quality objectives.
- Oversee and manage project scope, costs, schedules, resources, and risks.
- Facilitate critical process assessments and redesign for process improvements.
- Chair and facilitate project kickoff meetings, defining roles and expectations.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key stakeholders.
- Provide tools and training for project team members to perform effectively.
- Monitor milestones and critical dates, identify potential schedule risks, and propose solutions.
- Assess variances from the project plan and implement necessary changes to stay within scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Conduct formal reviews with business sponsors at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in a related field or specialized training.
- Seven years of IT project management experience.
- PMP certification from PMI or an equivalent certification.
- Seven years of experience managing projects of moderate to high complexity.
- Basic understanding of mainframe system operations.
- Experience migrating on-premise applications to a cloud environment.
- Executive-level written and oral communication skills.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft O365 applications.
- Experience working with state government.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the last five years leading/coordinating vendor-managed projects.
- Master s degree in a related field or specialized training with seven years of IT project management experience.
- Experience in Health and Human Services Systems, eligibility projects, and business processes.
- Experience working in an enterprise outsourced environment.
