The client is looking for a PowerBuilder Developer and IT Analyst with a strong background specialized in PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher) and possess advanced skills in T-SQL query writing for Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. Day to day activities include data management, source control (TFS/Azure DevOps, GIT), unit testing, documentation, testing, production support, change management, software development and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
PowerBuilder Development (5 years)
- Research, analyze, and modify PowerBuilder source code to document application data workflows.
- Maintain and enhance existing PowerBuilder applications.
SQL Query Writing (10 years)
- Write complex T-SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from Sybase and MS SQL Server databases.
- Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data migration and cleansing.
Data Management (10 years)
- Perform data profiling, mapping, manipulation, validation, and analysis.
- Ensure data integrity and support migration processes.
Source Control (5 years)
- Utilize source control tools such as TFS/Azure DevOps or GIT to manage code changes.
Unit Testing (10 years)
- Document and perform unit testing to validate program modifications.
Documentation (10 years)
- Create, update, and maintain system documentation, flow diagrams, and specifications.
Testing (5 years)
- Collaborate with clients and Business Analysts to support test scenarios.
Production Support (5 years)
- Analyze issues, determine root causes, and provide root cause analysis reports.
Change Management (5 years)
- Follow change management processes and contribute to system enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with PowerBuilder development.
- Expertise in T-SQL and database querying (Sybase & MS SQL Server).
- Proficiency in data migration, cleansing, and validation.
- Experience with source control tools (TFS, Azure DevOps, or GIT).
- Strong unit testing and documentation skills.
- Ability to support test cases and production troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with change management processes.
