Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join a regional team responsible for on-site monitoring and audits of DCS (Department of Child Services) community-based contracted provider businesses. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the integrity and compliance of DCS service providers while ensuring adherence to state laws, policies, and service standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site audits of DCS community providers.
- Review provider practices from service to billing and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate financial damages to the state.
- Travel for audits and participate in team meetings.
- Suggest process improvements and ensure compliance with state laws.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on responsibilities.
Travel Requirements:
- This role involves frequent travel within DCS regions 9, 10, and 11, up to twice a week.
- Four times per year, the position requires travel to the Central Office in Marion County for division meetings.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Finance, or a related field, OR 4 years of experience in audit or investigations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with state agencies, community programs, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Prior experience in formulating and implementing audit corrective action plans.
- Strong knowledge of state laws, policies, service standards, and procedures.
- Experience working as a billing auditor within a state or federal agency.
