Position Overview:
The primary objective of this position is to provide technical writing support, standardize documentation, and deliver business assistance across the Security Operations Center (SOC). The Business Consultant will initially focus on the development, consolidation, and standardization of key artifacts for incident response teams, including:
- Computer Security Incident Response Plan (CSIRP)
- SOC Incident Playbooks
- Standardized Incident Reports
- RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) grids for each playbook
- Website guidance for workforce members reporting security incidents to the SOC
Additionally, the Business Consultant will assist in the creation and measurement of SOC Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), and other essential documentation to support the SOC’s functions. They will also integrate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and generate status reports for stakeholders.
The role also includes business analysis, process analysis, and project coordination services, such as:
- Developing business cases and impact statements
- Integrating security prioritization metrics into decision-making
- Tracking information security tasks, estimating resources, and providing prioritized schedules
- Coordinating with service suppliers to define deliverables, identify priorities, track progress, and report on the fulfillment of SOC needs
- Analyzing business processes, procedures, and organizational structures to identify issues and propose solutions
- Eliciting and documenting requirements, and creating functional specifications as necessary
Candidate Qualifications:
- Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail, accuracy, and follow-through; punctual and able to meet deadlines; proficient in task prioritization
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical information for diverse audiences
- Excellent writing and composition abilities, including grammar, punctuation, and clarity; skilled in organizing and communicating ideas effectively
- Knowledge of project management, conflict resolution, and incident escalation is preferred
- Strong ability to collaborate with customers to resolve business challenges, balancing the need for confidentiality, integrity, and availability
- Skilled at navigating complex situations and solving problems through sophisticated analysis and sound judgment
- Able to handle multiple tasks and interruptions while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor
- A person of high integrity, setting a strong example for others
- Committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Ability to work independently, as part of a peer team, and contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
