Job Title : Contract Specialist
Location : New Port Richey, FL
Duration : 12 Months with Possible extension
Job Description :
The Contract Specialist is responsible for drafting and, where appropriate, reviewing agreements including customer sales contracts, contract amendments, supplier purchase and sale agreements and confidentiality and consultant agreements as well as responding to customer request for proposals (RFPs). Works closely with company sales, service and sourcing teams as well as customers, business managers and attorneys.
Key responsibilities / essential functions include :
1) Drafting and reviewing / editing documents such as (but not limited to) : customer sales contracts, amendments, NDAs, contract renewals and expansions, and customer reorganizations for legal review. Managing contract clause libraries and contract databases.
2) Generate Small Business Plans - responsible for subcontract Procurement, support Sales Department & Cost-Estimating with small business subcontracting plans and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability.
3) Supports the selection of qualified suppliers and manufacturers and develops supply sources of high dollar value, long lead time, critically needed parts, equipment, materials, or service. Assumes the lead role in selection and negotiation for unique or customer-sensitive subcontracts.
4) Act as Small Business Liaison, develops and maintains Small Business Administration Vendor Listing and complies with all government regulations.
5) Evaluates proposals / quotations from suppliers and negotiates prices and terms to achieve optimum results for the company. Prepares and conducts market surveys to gather or provide information necessary to select subcontractors. Assembles pre-award documentation required for anticipated subcontracts.
6) Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. Complies with Government / Commercial Practices Manual (GPM / CPM) policies and procedures.
7)Administers subcontracts by interpreting and implementing the terms, conditions, and / or provisions of the purchasing agreements. Develops and administers all reporting procedures with subcontractors for compliance to the FAR / DFAR. Closely monitors subcontractor and / or supplier performance to ensure contractual agreements, terms and conditions are in compliance.
Required Qualifications :
1. College degree or Associates degree and 6 years work experience.
2. Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
3. Ability to communicate using English (and local language)
