Description:

Looking for someone with experience supporting a high-tech engineering team, specifically able to build computer systems and test them, perform general and assist engineers with debug, general lab management, PCBA rework.

The Role:
Looking for an experienced Engineering Lab Technician for the Embedded Processor Architecture, Engineering, and Solutions (EPAES) team. EPAES Operations includes: OpEx and CapEx planning and attainment, long-range and annual operational planning, inventory management, hardware planning and management, lab management and support, building test reference systems, inventory management, and shipping/receiving.

This is an individual contributor role that requires excellent organization skills, ability to pay attention to details, and ability to lift 50-pounds, as well as having great interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform system (computer) builds, installing newest BIOS and drivers, and installing Operating System, Windows & Linux
Managing system build request process, Jira
Performing debug on non-functional systems
Perform PCBA rework and/or work with other teams to complete rework
Perform general overall lab management
Keep lab equipment calibrated
Work with others to place hardware orders
Order general lab supplies and components
Generating monthly reports
Analyzing and improving processes they own

Preferred Experience:
Experience assembling computer systems from scratch
Experience installing complete computer software stack, including updating BIOS, installing drivers, installing patches, etc
Experience loading both Windows and Linux, Ubuntu & Yocto, Operating Systems
Experience performing general debug
Experience soldering
Degree from Technical Institute
Excellent skills of managing up with right set of data/reports to executives for visibility and decision making.

o Relentless focus on operational excellence.

Career/Academic Credentials:
5 years' experience building computer systems and working in an engineering lab environment.
