Responsibilities and specific duties :
Serves as Project Manager for specific projects and activities; works with Security and Technology Services (STS) Management on priorities and timeframes of projects; plans work and schedule for projects; coordinates interaction between interrelated project teams; reviews and assesses progress of agency projects and activities and takes corrective action where necessary
Ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements
Is required to follow the agency s methodology, the Project Management Approach for The Systems Development Lifecycle
Assists agency management and project stakeholders in information technology planning related to the agency program
Clarifies expectations and defines requirements. Directs the work activities and priorities of team leaders, architects, consultants, analysts, and technicians engaged in design, procurement, testing, and implementation of Agency projects and activities. Responsible for providing feedback to agency management on staff, assignments, training, development, and performance related to the agency.
Serves as primary contact person for agency project stakeholders and contractors to resolve day-to-day issues, process change requests, and manage schedules for agency projects and activities. Escalates to the agency management and project sponsors any issues, change requests, and schedule impacts.
Coordinates with agency management and resources responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of agency components post-implementation as needed for knowledge transfer and for coordination with new agency implementation.
Estimates, tracks and reports on costs, including potential hard dollars, and internal agency personnel and contractor hours. Reports regularly to Management and Sponsor as to project status, including project accomplishments, issues, risks, and financials. Serves as project advisor to Agency Management, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committee.
Documents expected benefits, such as reduction in cycle time, personnel savings, and any hard dollar savings for any enhancement requests other than ones mandated by legislation.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
